IITA/ICP intends to encourage farmers who are commercially inclined to take advantage of the market opportunities in and around their states to generate income and alleviate poverty. It does not aim to displace ongoing cassava growers. We encourage cluster farming because only large farmers will secure the large quantities of cassava that are needed by the industries. | Cassava
is applicable in many types of products such as foods, confectionery,
sweeteners,
glues, plywood, textiles, paper, biodegradable products, monosodium glutamate,
and drugs. Cassava chips and pellets are used in animal
feed and alcohol
production. |
